Fair warning for those considering this for a MacOS machine: this unit DOES require installation of a special driver that may cause problems with other USB Mass Storage devices. There are better products that will still allow multiple cards at once without requiring a special driver; look for those.
Seems to be pretty much plug-and-play. But I cannot get it to read a 64 MB Sandisk smartmedia card. It reads Compact Flash and Secure Digital. Can’t find any online support, and the manual has nothing of any help.
Windows XP set up was very easy. It’s plug and play. The computer recognized it at once. Each of the card readers is recognized as a different drive. Everything that I have thrown at it has read just fine. It’s also small and very portable. When I travel I tuck it into one of the pockets of my laptop case.
The only con is that it feels a bit insubstantial.
