slow camera start up after inserting SDHC card?
I notice there's a noticeable lag (5-6 seconds) in my camera starting up with a SDHC card in the slot. It takes only about 2 seconds to start up without the SDHC card on board. Is this normal? Thanks.
It could very well be normal if you have a lot of stuff on the card. I use my cards like film. I take pics, upload them to my computer and make a backup on a removeable drive. I then format the card in the camera and am ready to go out and take more pics.
After uploading your pictures and movies to your computer, try formatting the card in the camera and see what happens to the start up times. It may be more than 2 seconds, but probably less than 5-6 seconds.
