Would you recommend SanDisk CF Extreme III Memory or SanDisk Extreme III SDHC Card for fast photo shoots?

What is the difference between them and are both compatible with DSLR cameras?

Basically you're talking about two different types of cards.
SanDisk CF Extreme III is for DSLRs including
Sony a200, a300, a350, a700, a900
Canon 50D, 5D Mark II, 1Ds Mark III
Nikon D200, D300, D700, D3x
Olympus E 420, E 520, E 30

For the SDHC card, its for cameras like the
Canon 1000D & 450D
Nikon D40X, D60, D90
Pentax Cameras

Thus, you'll have to check with card slot your camera has and make your decision. However, both cards are good for fast photo shoots.

Does the R4 III SDHC work for the Nintendo DS?

i already ordered one off of amazon, and was very disappointed when i saw that it is being deemed "fake"

are ALL r4 III's fake, or are some real? does it always brick the ds? is there a way to make it compatible?

some people said it worked fine for them, some said it froze up their ds but they were able to fix it, and others say it just completely destroyed the ds. :/

yes all r4 III are fake, but they still work on the ds. they are a clone of the original r4 flashcart that the real r4 team made. other fakes include r4 sdhc, r4 deluxe, n5, r4ds revolution, etc. these are all clones because they all support microsdhc memory cards, whereas the real r4 flashcart was only ever able to support standard micro sd memory cards.
it is possible that the r4III could brick you dslite, depending on what firmware you use on it. if you use the real r4 firmware then there is no chance of bricking you ds. if you used one from the fake r4 teams than there is a possibility that it could ruin your ds.

edit:
i just looked at the r4III at amazon and man is that one expensive peice of junk. good flashcarts these days are half or even a quarter of the price.
if you don't want to risk the chance i suggest actually getting a good flashcart like the acekard 2 (second best on the market) or the cyclods evolution (best on the market).
the acekard 2 is only $13USD at dealextreme.com (which is where i buy all my flashcarts since it the cheapest place in the world) and is 100 times better than any r4 out there. it does everything that the r4 does plus so much more with the AKAIO firmware.
the problem with any r4 (whether it's real or fake) is that it is obsolete as of april 2008. which was when the company was shut down by nintendo. meaning that some of the newer games will not work on it. this applies to all r4 clones because they based the hardware and software off the real r4 and since they don't have the source code for the real r4 firmware, that mean that they won't be able to update the card properly, which might lead to the bricking of your ds.

the main reason why everybody recommends the r4, is because that's the only flashcart they have ever heard of. and that's the only reason that they think that it is so awesome.
