retail store credit card debt?

This is a stupid question, but: What is the best (meaning quickest and most efficient) way to minimize the debt incurred from retail credit cards? I am 20, and have a Victoria's Secret store card and a Target card, and owe hundreds on both. I do have a job and I try to pay on them steadily, but I just cannot seem to get out from under them and I know this will effect me horribly later in life. ANy advice?

First, stop using the cards. Put them in a ziplock bag of water and freeze them if you don't have the discipline to not use them.

Second, take every penny you can squeeze out of your budget and put it on the highest interest rate card, while paying the minimum on the other. If the interest rate is the same, work on the smaller balance first. When the one is paid off, throw everything at the other.

Paying the minimum will take years and years to pay off even a small balance. Credit cards, especially store charge cards, are NOT meant for long term financing. They are a short term convenience.
