Lexar Shoot-n-Sync SD Cards

It's a strange name for an sd memory card I agree but this sd card is not your average memory card.

The all new Lexar Shoot-n-Sync memory card was developed to simplify the way you take, share and save your digital photos and videos. Unlike regular sd memory cards, the new Lexar Shoot-n-Sync card allows you to automatically upload photos and other data to your home network using Wi-Fi technology. Some interesting statistics I read stated that there are more than 400 million digital pictures captured daily, and of those pictures only 1 out of 5 is ever publish r shared. I'm not sure if this is a bad thing and the thought of documenting your life in pictures for the whole world to see is my idea of a nightmare. Of course it would seem that I am in the minority if you take into account the popularity of social networking and photo sharing websites.

This is the customer base Lexar are shooting for (if you pardon the pun!) The Lexar Shoot-n-Sync memory card uses standard wireless G technology and your home network to store your photos on your computer and the Internet.

The sd card is easy to install and uses a one-time setup process from the company Eye-Fi and is called Eye-Fi Manager. A really nice feature of the sd cards is that once you have configured the sd memory card to your home network, whenever you're in range of your home network, the sd card automatically uploads your photos to your storage area or even to your favorite photo sharing website, such as Picasa, Flickr or Facebook.

The Lexar Shoot-n-Sync sd memory card comes in 2gb and will be available in 4gb, 8gb and 16gb cards. The sd card are compatible with most sd card technology enabled devices and stores your photos like an other standard sd memory card.

The test we did showed that the card worked effortlessly once you had set it up. The configuration took a little time to complete but once working we saw speeds inline with 56g wireless rates.

I was that impressed with this little sd card that I have actually gone out and bought one. When you consider how many gadgets i review in a week it takes a lot to leave an impression this good.

Lexar Professional Compact Flash Card Review

Today we are going take a look at the new . This card has been designed with the digital SLR camera user in mind and the heavy speed requirements associated with such products.

Digital SLR cameras are not only increasing in pixels but also in processor speed and so there is a need to store the information from the sensor rapidly and reliably. It is essential that the storage medium keeps pace with the processing power of the latest SLR cameras and so Lexar have come up with the latest Compact Flash memory card, the Lexar Professional UDMA 300x.

The standard write speed of most cards was about 1-2mb per second, this as increased through 4x, 8x etc to a point now where 133x write speeds have become common place and many professional photographers have memory cards of this speed and higher in their bags.

The Lexar Professional UDMA 300x Compact Flash® memory card was built to provide ultimate high-speed performance with an emphasis on reliability for the professional and advanced enthusiast photographer. The card work in unison with a UDMA enabled reader to supply dramatically increases card read and write transfer rates.

The card has also been design with a certain amount of future proofing as a lot of the latest SLR professional cameras come with the next generation of high-resolution UDMA technology. The Lexar Professional UDMA CF card is also available in smaller sizes including 2GB, 4GB and 8GB capacities.

So how much better can it be to use one of these card, what kind of advantage does it give? Well the simple answer is that speed equals time. The memory cards can write information far quicker saving time which means no delay in being ready to catch the next great shot. We tested this on a standard dSLR camera from Cannon using a 1gb memory card. We held the shutter for 10 seconds and managed to record just 8 frames. Removing the card only and replacing it with the Lexar Professional UDMA 300x Compact Flash memory card saw an increase in frames from 8 to 16. So we doubled the frame rate just by replacing the memory card. Now that's what I call an easy upgrade path.

The as an official read/write speed based at a minimum write speed capability of around 300x (45MB/sec) quiet amazing when you think about it. The memory card also includes some useful little Extras. The Lexar Professional UDMA 300x card includes Lexar's own Image Rescue™ 3 software. This is a very useful bit of software and should help you recover any deleted images or files without too much trouble and this includes corrupted data retrieval. The Image Rescue™ 3 software can also make sure that all the images you do not require anymore can be removed correctly and the memory card reformat securely to ensure no one can access your used data.

The read speeds on the Lexar Professional UDMA 300x card are very fast and this means that you will spend less time downloading the data to your computer or checking shots etc. although. Another good point is that the memory card comes with a limited lifetime warranty and a dedicated customer support line that's free to customers. A useful thing when you consider the cost and value of such a memory card.

Verdict we where very impress with the speed of this memory card and if you are in the situation where time is money then I would recommend this card highly. The true advantages of having such read and write speed buffer clearing ability is a very useful point shooting fast moving action shots such as sports or wildlife

This card is only for the deep of pocket and may be overkill for general photographic requirements. That said if you can afford it you will not be disappointed.

Ok, I just got a Hitachi HDC-887E for my birthday and bought a Lexar memory card with it (it was recommended that i bought this one with it). It fits in perfectly and worked well with the memory card for about two days, then a box kept coming up saying "Card Error". I have been following the instructions in the manual on how to Format this card, it still doesn't work properly (The sign still coming up), any suggestions?

It most likely has been corrupted. There are a number of reasons why but the most common is that it was removed while the device it was in was still on. Sometimes you can insert into a pc and the pc will fix it for you.. That's what works for me. I bought a card at Wal Mart and had similar problem and have to remove it from my camera and insert it into my pc to fix it.

SD card recovery lets you find your lost SD memory card files

An SD card recovery software allows you to get back pictures that you may have inadvertently erased, misplaced on your computer or otherwise have lost access to. The initials SD stand for Secure Digital.

The card is a software program that lets you access photo files from SD memory cards. The makes that are compatible with SD card recovery whose SD memory card photos you can recover are PQI, Transcent, PNY, Lexar, Kingston, ScanDisk and others that you can search when purchasing your SD card software recovery card.

The software uses a sophisticated wizard interface that supposedly lets you find and replace corrupt or lost files from your SD memory card.

The software called SD card recovery is available online as a download. In no time at all, you can download the software and run the executive file by following the instructions on how to install and use the software on your computer.

The programmers of the software claim that in 10 minutes, you will be able to locate and retrieve your erased, corrupted or misplace pictures that were on your computer.

The only requirement is that your SD memory card is available on your computer and that you do not continue to take more pictures using the same memory card before your get back the pictures that were lost. Any lost pictures that had new pictures put on top of them can not be retrieved.

Another requirement is that your camera has to show up on your computer control board as a letter under "My Computer" contents. If it does not appear as a drive letter, you will need a USB SD card reader before you can use the SD card recovery software.

Once you have either the drive letter or the USB card reader, you can used the software to find the lost pictures that are located in your computer photo files. Many of the latest computers made have card readers already built in to the computer. For all other computers, cards are sold online or at computer retail stores.

Ok, I just got a Hitachi HDC-887E for my birthday and bought a Lexar memory card with it (it was recommended that i bought this one with it). It fits in perfectly and worked well with the memory card for about two days, then a box kept coming up saying "Card Error". I have been following the instructions in the manual on how to Format this card, it still doesn't work properly (The sign still coming up), any suggestions?

It most likely has been corrupted. There are a number of reasons why but the most common is that it was removed while the device it was in was still on. Sometimes you can insert into a pc and the pc will fix it for you.. That's what works for me. I bought a card at Wal Mart and had similar problem and have to remove it from my camera and insert it into my pc to fix it.
